The compressor, the water valve, the fresh air damper, the seat heater — each of these is a simple actuator. What turns them into a coherent climate system is the electronic control layer sitting between the driver’s controls and the hardware.

Snowfairy’s vehicle climate control business has grown from a single bus AC controller in 2007 to a full stack of programmable electronic platforms covering cabin comfort, battery thermal management, and body electronics. The company supplies Tier-1 components to major Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers including Yutong, Foton, Sany, and CRRC.

The core of the architecture is the PTCU — a programmable body domain controller that replaces the traditional approach of one ECU per function. Instead of separate modules for lighting, door locks, mirror adjustment, and climate control, the PTCU runs all of these on a single platform with shared communication buses (CAN and LIN) and a common firmware update path. For fleet operators, this means fewer failure points and simpler diagnostics. For OEMs, it means one integration point instead of six.

PTCU integrates BCM, gateway, seat, mirror, and HVAC control on one programmable platform.

On the thermal management side, the PTEC platform coordinates the entire HVAC loop — the ECU control box, the speed-regulating module, water valves, fresh air dampers, the air purifier, and the control panel — through a single programming interface. What used to require separate controllers for cabin temperature and battery temperature now runs as one coordinated system. The BMS sends a target water temperature; the PTEC adjusts compressor speed via PID control in real time, rather than cycling on and off.

PTEC coordinates all HVAC actuators — from the ECU box to the air purifier — through one control loop.

The PTMS hardware comes in five power classes from 3kW to 13kW, covering everything from light trucks to heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Each unit supports PTC liquid heating, self-circulation mode, CAN 2.0 networking, and fault self-diagnosis. The 8kW and above models meet EMC Class III requirements and include real-time power data upload for fleet monitoring.

Air quality inside the cabin is handled separately. The vehicle-mounted purification unit uses high-voltage ionization to capture particulates above 0.3 micrometers at over 90 percent efficiency, while consuming only 7.5W. It is rated for more than 8,000 hours of continuous operation and removes over 85 percent of formaldehyde and benzene compounds.

PTMS units span 3kW to 13kW for different vehicle classes and duty cycles.

For fleet operators and OEM engineers evaluating electronic control architectures for new energy commercial vehicles, Snowfairy’s team provides system matching support and integration guidance.
